From Winston Churchill to Nikita Khrushchev, these two decades produced 28 of the Century’s most important news stories.* Relive them, as well as numerous others, by way of the actual broadcasts, newspaper headlines, magazine covers, gum cards and other cultural ephemera. Many also were the subject of songs, some of which you will remember; others that will surprise you.

For today’s generation this program is a remedial history course. For us it is a vivid reminder in sight and sound of the people and events that shaped us and brought us to where we are today.
